How to disable comments on posts or pages?

Comment section on existing posts and pages needs to be removed per page/post. To do that go to the page or post from which you want to remove the comments section.

Check if beneath the editor window you see the “Discussion” section :

If this section is visible then simply un-check the “Allow Comments” box.

If “Discussion” section is not there, then open the “Screen Options” tab in the top right corner of the page and there check the “Discussion” box :

Now when you checked the “Discussion” box in “Screen Options”, the “Discussion” section should appear below the editor window. At this point you can then un-check “Allow comments” box.

If you want to disable comments for all your future posts and pages then go to “Dashboard->Settings->Discussion” and un-check the “Allow people to post comments on new articles” box.
