4. Front Page

Home Page displays your latest posts. This is default WordPress setting.

If you don't want to use latest posts for your home page you can navigate to the Settings > Reading and instead of the default "Front Page - Your latest posts" choose "A static page" and choose appropriate pages for the home and blog page.

4.1 Front Page

4.1.1 How to add content to the Home Page?

The whole content for the front page can be added inside the Page Editor. Here we will explain what was added inside the live preview example.

Front page uses "Front Page" template from the "Page Attributes".

4.1.2 Header Image

You can use header image for different things (like banners, logo, image...).

To set up, change or delete header image navigate to Appearance > Header and there you'll find the options available for it.

4.1.3 Page Content

To have a portfolio custom post like in the live demo you need to install Jetpack plugin. After you activate and connect your Jetpack with the WordPress.com acoount you will see "Portfolio" in the menu bar on the left.

Start adding your portfolio projects. Front page uses portfolio projects featured image.

Navigate to the Pages > Front Page and add jetpack portfolio shortcode inside the editor. Shorcode used in the live demo is:
[portfolio display_type=true columns=3 showposts=6].

Inside the live preview we used 3 columns portfolio shortcode but you are welcome to use 2,3,4,5,6 columns. These are the shortcodes:
[portfolio display_type=true columns=2 showposts=6],
[portfolio display_type=true columns=3 showposts=6],
[portfolio display_type=true columns=4 showposts=6],
[portfolio display_type=true columns=4 showposts=6],
[portfolio display_type=true columns=5 showposts=6],
[portfolio display_type=true columns=6 showposts=6]
just change the "columns" number and "showpost" number to the number you want.
