4. Front Page

Home Page displays your latest posts. This is default WordPress setting.

If you don't want to use latest posts for your home page you can navigate to the Settings > Reading and instead of the default "Front Page - Your latest posts" choose "A static page" and choose appropriate pages for the home and blog page.

 

4.1 Front Page

4.1.1 How to add content to the Home Page?

All content for the front page you are able to add inside Widgets and Page Editor. This gives you freedom to add whatever you want. Here we will explain what we've added inside the live preview example, but you are free to do it the way you see fits to your needs.

Front page uses "Front Page" template from the "Page Attributes".

 

 

4.1.2 Header Image

You can use header image for different things (like banners, logo, image...).

To set up, change or delete header image navigate to Appearance > Header and there you'll find the options available for it.

 

4.1.3 Toggle Button and Widgetized Area

Navigate to the Customizer and check "Show Toggle Opening Area" if you want to show it.

Navigate to the Appearance > Widgets and add widgets inside the "Toggle Widget Area". You can drag and drop max 3 widgets inside this sidebar!

You have free hands in creating the top part, you can upload just the header image without toggle button, you can upload header image and show the toggle button or you can remove header image and toggle button. It is up to you!

 

 

4.1.4 Page Content

Navigate to the Pages > Front Page upload your featured image (1020x608px) and add content inside the editor.

 

 

4.1.5 Sidebar 1

Navigate to the Appearance > Widgets and add widgets inside the "Sidebar 1".

We used Text Widget with this content:

 

If you don't want the page content and sidebar 1 part just navigate to the "Appearance > Widgets" and leave Sidebar 1 empty. Navigate to the "Pages > Front Page" and leave the featured image and editor empty.

 

 

4.1.5 Block Content 1

Navigate to the Appearance > Widgets and add widgets inside the "Front Page - Block Content 1".

We used this sidebar to show latest 5 posts from the "projects" category. If you want to have it the same way you need to drag the "Fan Pit Front Page - 5 Column Recent Posts" widget and drop it inside the "Front Page - Block Content 1".

Of course, before, you'll need to write some posts and assign them to the category you want to show in this content block. If you don't write any posts this widget will not show any content because there is no post available.

If you want to show 5 latest posts from the category you want, write 5 different posts and assign each one to the same category (you can name the category however you want).

Front Page - Block Content 1 widgetized sidebar can be used for different things, you can drag and drop whatever widget you want. You can have one column, two columns or three columns widgetized area. If you drag and drop one widget inside you'll have one column area. If you drag and drop two widgets you'll have two columns area and if you upload three widgets you'll have three columns area. You are able to drag and drop more than three widgets and they will show up bellow the three columns widget.

 

 

4.1.6 Block Content 2

Navigate to the Appearance > Widgets and add widgets inside the "Front Page - Block Content 2".

We used this sidebar to show the latest 4 posts from the "news" category. If you want to have it the same way you need to drag the "Fan Pit Front Page - 2 Column Recent Posts" widget and drop it inside "Front Page - Block Content 2".

Of course, before, you'll need to write some posts and assign them to the category you want to show in this content block. If you don't write any posts this widget will not show any content because there is no post available.

If you want to show 4 latest posts from the category you want, write 4 different posts and assign each one to the same category (you can give it any name you want).

Front Page - Block Content 2 widgetized sidebar can be used for different things, you can drag and drop whatever widget you want. You can have one column, two columns or three columns widgetized area. If you drag and drop one widget inside you'll have one column area. If you drag and drop two widgets you'll have two columns area and if you upload three widgets you'll have three columns area. You are able to drag and drop more than three widgets and they will show up bellow the three columns widget.

 

 

4.1.7 Block Content 3

Navigate to the Appearance > Widgets and add widgets inside the "Front Page - Block Content 3".

We used this sidebar to show latest 3 posts from the "gallery" category. If you want to have it the same way you need to drag the "Fan Pit Front Page - 3 Column Recent Posts" widget and drop it inside "Front Page - Block Content 3".

Of course, before, you'll need to write some posts and assign them to the category you want to show in this content block. If you don't write any posts this widget will not show any content because there is no post available.

If you want to show 3 latest posts from the category you want, write 3 different posts and assign each one to the same category (you can name it gallery or give it ayn other name).

Front Page - Block Content 3 widgetized sidebar can be used for different things, you can drag and drop whatever widget you want. You can have one column, two columns or three columns widgetized area. If you drag and drop one widget inside you'll have one column area. If you drag and drop two widgets you'll have two columns area and if you upload three widgets you'll have three columns area. You are able to drag and drop more than three widgets and they will show up bellow the three columns widget.

 

 

4.1.8 Sidebar 2

Navigate to the Appearance > Widgets and add widgets inside the "Sidebar 2".

For the first we used "Text Widget" with this content:

 

For the second we used "Custom Menu" widget, to show social menu

 

For the third we used "Fan Pit Sidebar - 3 Column Recent Posts" widget, to show 3 posts from the gallery category

 

For the fourth we used "Text Widget" with this content:

 

You are free to use any of the available widgets inside the "Sidebar 2" widgetized area!

 

 

4.1.9 Block Content 4

Navigate to the Appearance > Widgets and add widgets inside the "Front Page - Block Content 4".

We used this sidebar to show latest 4 posts from the "shows" category. If you want to have it the same way you need to drag the "Fan Pit Front Page - 4 Column Recent Posts" widget and drop it inside "Front Page - Block Content 4".

Of course, before, you'll need to write some posts and assign them to the category you want to show in this content block. If you don't write any posts this widget will not show any content because there is no post available.

4.2 Front Page One

Difference between the Front Page and Front Page One is that the Front Page One doesn't include "Page Content" and "Sidebar 1" and the content block arrangement is different.

Front page uses "Front Page One" template from the "Page Attributes".

 

 

 

 

4.3 Front Page Two

Difference between the Front Page and Front Page Two is that we have, inside the "Page Content", slider instead of the featured image and text content.

Front page uses "Front Page Two" template from the "Page Attributes".

4.3.1 How to add Slider

Navigate to Soliloquy Menu and click on the "Add New" to create your slider. Upload your images. Size of the images from the live preview are 1020x535px. You can upload images that are smaller in height.

 

Now you'll need to navigate to the "Config" tab to set up settings for the slider. We are using "Karisma" slider theme.

 

Now you'll need to navigate to the "Thumbnails" tab to activate the thumbnails feature.

 

To add the slider to the page content navigate to the Pages - Front Page Two and click on the "Add Slider Button " i

 

 

 

 

4.4 Front Page Three

Front page uses "Front Page Three" template from the "Page Attributes".

Difference between the Front Page and Front Page Three is that the Front Page Three doesn't include "Page Content" and "Sidebar 1". Inside the "Front Page - Block Content 4" we are usign instead of "Fan Pit Front Page - 4 Column Recent Posts" Soliloquy Slider.

4.4.1 How to set up video Slider

Navigate to Soliloquy Menu and click on the "Add New" to create your slider. Upload your slides as videos.

 

Now you need to navigate to "Config" tab to set up settings for the slider. We are using "Karisma" slider theme.

 

Now you need to navigate to "Carousel" tab to activate the carousel feature.

 

 

 

 

 

4.5 Front Page Four

Front page uses "Front Page Four" template from the "Page Attributes".

Difference between the Front Page and Front Page Four is that the Front Page Four doesn't include "Header Image", "Toggle Button" and "Sidebar 1" and instead is using Soliloquy Slider inside the "Page Content" editor.
